We are pleased to provide students with good medical coverage at a reasonable cost.
We have created this page to centralize information regarding student insurance programs for our students. You'll find both links to important sites or PDFs that provide you with information regarding programs available to St. Joseph’s students.
St. Joseph’s College requires all of our full-time undergraduate students (those students in Arts and Sciences and PGS taking 12 or more credits and those in weekend college on the Long Island Campus taking 9 or more credits) to carry medical insurance. Domestic full-time students may waive the school-sponsored plan by providing proof that they are covered under another comparable medical insurance plan.
All enrollment and waivers will be handled online. The deadline to waive or to complete the enrollment process for fall semester is September 16, 2013. Your waiver is good for the entire year. New student to St. Joseph's College who enroll for the spring will have until February 7, 2014, to waive or to complete the enrollment process. It is important that you follow this process so that you will receive verification of your completing the process via email. The online site is secure, and you will set up your own unique password when you enter the site. For more details please see the letter to all students.
Collegiate Insurance Resources' (CIR) general website manages St. Joseph’s student insurance program. St. Joseph’s College has all students covered under a basic accident plan of $5,000. This covers our students in the case of an accidental injury. Please note that this plan only pays after all private insurance has been paid and is exhausted.
