The following description is care of NYCopera.com
Under Mark Lamos’s direction, Puccini’s dramatic masterpiece is "a gripping production of the ultimate surefire opera” (Daily News). Anna Shafajinskaia, one of opera’s most exciting dramatic sopranos, triumphantly returns to the leading role, performing with a sound The New York Times calls “appealingly dark and rounded.”
The world is her stage. A renowned opera diva, Tosca has a flair for the dramatic. Caught in a web of bluffs, betrayals, and double crosses, nothing will keep her from the man she loves… not even death.
A co-production with Glimmerglass Opera. Sung in Italian with English supertitles.
