Town Hall Meeting: Does Race Still Matter? |
| Date: |
March 5, 2008 |
| Location: | 12:40 PM. Tuohy Auditorium. |
| Description: | "To embrace academic life, our voices MUST be heard!"
There will be a Town Hall Meeting discussing the issue of whether or not race still matters. Our stories, our struggles, whose words?
Students, faculty, and staff will have an opportunity to express, share and discuss their experiences and knowledge about the meaningfulness of race, ethnicity and culture in their lives. Some of the topics that may come up for discussion include the racial/ethnic environment at St. Joseph’s, policy issues, such as affirmative action, and factors that affect our perception and stereotypes of others.
This promises to be an informative, lively and exploratory discussion. Sponsored by Office of Diversity Initiatives. Lunch will be provided.
