SJC Adjunct Named Service Organization Governor
St. Joseph’s College Adjunct Professor Named Governor Of The Northeast Region Of A Worldwide Service Organization For Brain-Related Disorders And Disabilities

Patchogue, NY – March 27, 2006 – St. Joseph’s College is proud to announce that adjunct professor Nancy Lowe will be installed on April 27, 2006 as Governor for the Northeast Potomac Region of Pilot International, an international service organization that focuses on improving the quality of life for those with brain-related disorders and disabilities. At her new position as Governor, Lowe will be supervising ten district chapters in the region.

“I am very honored to accept the position of Governor for Pilot International,” asserts new inductee, Nancy Lowe. “I am very proud to say that I have dedicated my whole life to volunteering and I very much enjoy working within this organization. I am never without friends.”

Nancy Lowe is an adjunct professor at St. Joseph’s College, where she teaches Pre-Kindergarten Special Education classes Thursday mornings and afternoons. Lowe also oversees Special Education teachers at the College.

Pilot International has local Long Island chapters in Sayville, Babylon and Patchogue. St. Joseph’s College currently has three student applicants for the Pilot International Scholarship, which is open to students who are or will work with disabled individuals. A winner will be announced at the Pilot International Convention in Georgia this July.


In 1921, Pilot International was founded in Macon, Georgia as a global service organization that concentrates on improving the quality of life in communities all over the world. Through Pilot International’s efforts, over one million dollars has been awarded in grants to assist communities in need and individuals pursuing careers in research for brain-related disorders and disabilities. This organization also has programs that teach children about brain injuries and how to prevent them. Pilot International reaches tens of thousands of people every year helping them become active and productive citizens.
