Clare Rose Playhouse At SJC Presents “Over The River And Through The Woods”
The show will run from July 7 through July 23, 2006.

PATCHOGUE, NY – JUNE 5, 2006 – The Clare Rose Playhouse, a community theatre located on the Patchogue campus of St. Joseph’s College, will end its 2005-06 season with "Over the River and Through the Woods", an endearingly warm-hearted comedy by Joe DiPietro. The show will run from July 7 through July 23, 2006.

A single Italian-American guy from New Jersey, Nick has been offered his dream job as a marketing executive and is ready to move to Seattle to begin a new life. Meanwhile, Nick’s four Italian-American grandparents are not prepared to let their devoted grandson, who eats dinner with them every Sunday evening, get away that easily. Therein lies the problem, which leads to an outbreak of unsolicited advice, meddling, familial guilt and even an attempt at matchmaking, all wrapped up in heaps of food. "Over the River and Through the Woods" is a hilarious, family comedy, loaded with laughs every step of the way.

General admission tickets cost $14 each with a reduced rate of $12 for students and senior citizens. Group rates, season subscriptions and dinner and lunch packages also are available. Shows begin at 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings, with Sunday matinees starting at 3:00 p.m. For reservations or further information, please call the box office at (631) 654-0199.

The Clare Rose Playhouse, which serves as a major teaching facility for the College’s theatre courses, is accessible via the South Service Road of Sunrise Highway, just east of Exit 52 (Waverly Avenue) in Patchogue, on the northeast corner of the campus of St. Joseph’s College. A former cottage converted in 1985 through the generosity and guidance of the man for whom it is named, the Playhouse serves as a major teaching facility for the college’s theater courses and is a training ground for young actors. The Playhouse is the site of community theater productions of musicals, dramas, comedies, cabaret acts, musical performances, dance troupes and comedians.
