St. Joseph’s College Announces Launch Of Newly Renamed School For Adult Students
Inauguration of School of Professional and Graduate Studies Set for 2006 Opening Semester

Brooklyn and Patchogue, NY – September 6, 2006 – St. Joseph’s College is pleased to announce that in an effort to raise the visibility of the programs it offers to adult students, and in keeping with the national trend, effective Fall 2006, the School of Adult and Professional Education will be renamed the School of Professional and Graduate Studies. The school, which will continue its tradition of serving career-oriented and working adult students, is dedicated to continuing its development of new undergraduate, graduate and non-credit programs to help serve professional development.

“The inauguration of the School of Professional and Graduate Studies is a fitting extension of the College’s long-standing commitment to providing programs and services designed to foster career advancement for working professionals,” said Dr. Thomas Travis, Vice President and Dean of the School of Professional and Graduate Studies.

Formerly known as the School of Adult and Professional Education, the newly renamed School of Professional and Graduate Studies at St. Joseph’s College offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, credit-bearing certificates and affiliated, pre-professional programs to adults with highly diversified professional and personal backgrounds. Since the early 1970s, St. Joseph's College has offered adult degree programs on two campuses and numerous extension sites in the five boroughs of New York City and in the Long Island counties of Nassau and Suffolk.

Program highlights for the School of Professional and Graduate Studies include Business Administration with a major in Accounting, Community Health & Human Services, Computer Information Systems, Health Administration, Nursing (RN required), General Studies, Organizational Management and an Organizational Management Online program. Graduate degrees are also offered including an Executive MBA, a Master of Science in Management, a Master of Science Degree with a Major in Nursing, a Master of Arts in Literacy/Cognition, a Master of Arts in Infant/Toddler Early Childhood Special Education and a brand new M.B.A in Accounting.

St. Joseph’s offers flexible scheduling and career-oriented degrees for adults as well as convenient campus and community-based sites, progressive undergraduate credit for professional training and prior experiential learning and personal support for returning adult students. In addition, St. Joseph’s now also offers on-line distance learning options, recruitment and support for international students and enhanced computer opportunities at both campuses.
