Brooklynature: In The Garden. Brooklyn, N.Y. April 19, 2007
This exhibit will run from May 6 to June 15th

April 19, 2007 St. Joseph's College Council for the Arts is pleased to announce that it will host an juried exhibit entitled: BrooklyNature: In The Garden. This exhibit will run from May 6 to June 15th at the College's Bloodgood Garden on 256 Clinton Avenue. The opening reception for this exhibit will be held on Sunday, May 6th in the Bloodgood Garden and will feature a performance by the Woodwind Trio from the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra. All events are free and open to the public.

The fifth event in the College's Nature’s Lasting Impression, Our Environmental Footprint series, BrooklyNature, In The Garden will feature environmentally themed sculptures created by Brooklyn artists. The award judge for the sculpture exhibit is Kate Chura, the Vice President of the Horticultural Society of New York. The selection panel will include Ms. Chura, and E. Jane Beckwith and Leslie Ava Shaw from the College's faculty.

Founded by Sister Elizabeth A. Hill, CSJ, J.D., president, the St. Joseph’s College Council for the Arts is a coalition of students, faculty members and staff who serve as a focal point for St. Joseph’s College’s educational and community outreach programming in the arts. By expanding and integrating campus arts activities, the Council seeks to enhance the public image of the College as a cultural center in Brooklyn and aims to make arts and cultural events more accessible to its students and area neighbors.
