PATCHOGUE, NY – MAY 14, 2007 –St. Joseph’s College is pleased to announce the promotion of two key members of the administration effective Spring 2007. Sister Loretta McGrann, former Vice President of Academic Affairs, has been named College Provost, and Gigi Lamens, formerly the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Services on the Long Island Campus, has been named Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management.
A long-time employee of the College, Sister Loretta McGrann serves as second in command to President Sister Elizabeth Hill. Prior to obtaining her position as Vice President, Sister Loretta began her career at St. Joseph’s College in 1978 as the Director of Student Services and as a faculty member in English department, a position she continues to hold. Over the years, she has also acted as both the Associate Chairperson and Chairperson of the English Department. Throughout her academic career, Sister Loretta has sat on a number of boards and served as a member of various committees, including the College-wide Planning Committee, the College Advisory Council, the Academic Development Committee, the Steering Committee for Middle States Periodic Review Report and the Intra-College Council. She also serves on the board of St. Francis’s Preparatory High School in Queens, New York.
Gigi Lamens joined St. Joseph’s College in January 2006. With more than 25 years of experience in the field of enrollment management, she will serve as the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management on the College’s Long Island Campus. In this capacity, she will work to develop enrollment strategies to increase the quality and quantity of the student body at St. Joseph’s College.
Prior to obtaining her position at St. Joseph’s College, Gigi Lamens was the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Hofstra University for over three years and was Dean of Admissions and Enrollment Planning at Stony Brook University for 15 years. She is active in state and national organizations, such as the College Board and the National Association of College Admissions Counselors, and has presented at many regional and national conferences on topics pertaining to admissions, retention, and enrollment management.
St. Joseph’s College is located at 155 W. Roe Blvd. in Patchogue, and is accessible via the South Service Road of Sunrise Highway, just east of Exit 52 (Waverly Ave.).
