PATCHOGUE AND BROOKLYN, NY – OCTOBER 23, 2007 – St. Joseph’s College is pleased to announce that it has introduced a new Master of Business Administration program in Health Care Management to its graduate curriculum. The new degree program, offered at both the Long Island and Brooklyn campuses, became available to graduate students this past fall.
Designed to provide health care professionals with a comprehensive business education that focuses on real-world health care issues, the new MBA in Health Care Management will help prepare practitioners for senior management positions by focusing on the financial, legal, regulatory, managerial, political, social and historical aspects of the health care industry.
“Health care is the largest employer on Long Island and St. Joseph’s MBA program in Health Care is designed to meet the increasing demand for quality managers to effectively run hospitals, physician practices, government entities and managed care organizations,” said John Sardelis, Dr.P.H., Associate Chairperson for Health Administration and Assistant Professor at St. Joseph’s College. “We have highly experienced professors that teach courses in finance, marketing, information technology, bioethics and more tailored to the specific needs of this vast and complex industry.”
The MBA in Health Care Management is a 36-credit degree program with classes ranging from Leadership and Managerial Development to Health Care Finance and Reimbursement. Offered through the School of Professional and Graduate Studies at St. Joseph’s College, the new program builds on the College’s already successful business graduate curriculum, including an Executive MBA, an MBA in Accounting and an MS in Management with concentrations in Organizational Management, Health Care Management or Human Resources Management. The College also offers graduate degrees in Nursing, Literacy/Cognition and Infant/Toddler Early Childhood Special Education.
