PATCHOGUE, NY – JANUARY 3, 2008 – Matthew Brellis of East Setauket has joined St. Joseph’s College as the new Controller. He will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Business Affairs on both its Long Island and Brooklyn campuses. Brellis will also be responsible for a full range of financial management functions including General Accounting, Internal Auditing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Human Resources and Institutional Budgets. He will be ensuring compliance with financial accounting policies and procedures and Federal and State laws and regulations.
Matthew Brellis has 14 years experience in higher education. Prior to joining St. Joseph’s College, he served as the Controller at Briarcliffe College, Katherine Gibbs, the Collegiate School and the County College of Morris, New Jersey. Brellis has supervised staff in the finance area, prepared budgets, analyzed and implemented monthly financial statements and monitored operations in the Business Office, to name just a few of his former duties.
Matthew Brellis received his B.S. in Accounting from St. Francis College in Pennsylvania and is also a CPA in New York.
