PATCHOGUE AND BROOKLYN, NY – October 3, 2005 – St. Joseph’s College will hold its 23rd Annual Dinner Dance at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New York. This year’s black tie affair, which is being co-chaired by John DeFranza, Senior Vice President and Market Manager of Long Island & Brooklyn/Queens Business Banking for Bank of America, and Sister Elizabeth A. Hill, C.S.J., J.D., President of St. Joseph’s College, will honor Robert A. Isaksen of Bank of America, and St. Joseph’s alumna Bettyanne McDonough ’59. Proceeds from this event will benefit student scholarships. Individual tickets and various levels of sponsorship are still available for purchase.
With more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry, Robert A. Isaksen, Long Island market president for Bank of America, leads a cross functional team of seasoned banking leaders with many years of experience in the community. As market president, Bob provides business, civic and philanthropic leadership for Bank of America throughout Long Island and serves as an effective champion for the region. In addition, Isaksen is a market executive for Bank of America’s Healthcare & Institutions Group in metro New York, New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. He will receive this year’s Distinguished Citizen Award.
Bettyanne McDonough is a dedicated alumna of St. Joseph’s College Class of ’59. She began her career as a high school social studies teacher and later served as assistant principal, an administrator of citywide drug programs and principal of George Westinghouse High School. After retiring from the New York City Board of Education, she became director of special education for the Diocese of Brooklyn. Bettyanne McDonough is a founding member of the New York City Board of Education Emerald Society and of the American Irish Teachers Association. She is being honored as this year’s Outstanding Alumna.
