Long Island Academic Center

It’s not just about writing anymore. The Academic Center assists students with their academic studies.  The peer tutors and supervisors in the center are available to work with many disciplines and aspects for academic success:

  • writing in all disciplines

  • understanding and working on assignments

  • foreign languages - especially Spanish

  • chemistry

  • business and resume writing

  • ESL/ELL focused tutoring

  • students with disabilities accommodations

  • citation styles and procedures

  • study skills and critical thinking

  • test preparation

  • organization for the semester

  • basic skills

In addition, it oversees the Math Lab in the Business and Technology building and houses math tutors in the evenings and on Saturdays.  You can make appointments for all types of math and computer assistance including:

  • all levels of math

  • computer courses

  • finance 

  • accounting
