Celebrating Our First Century

SJC Centennial Celebration

Under the mantra “Honoring the Past. Celebrating the Present. Envisioning the Future.,” St. Joseph’s College commemorated its 2016 centennial anniversary with an 18-month celebration.

Across SJC Long Island and SJC Brooklyn, students, staff, faculty and alumni participated in an array of academic and festive events that showcased the College’s rich history and present success.

Both campuses hosted kickoff celebrations in October 2015, as well as heartwarming closing events in May 2017. In between, the College hosted the Centennial Lecture Series, revived the Presidential Lecture series and put forth a special Centennial Celebration Concert that featured American Idol star Phillip Phillips.

St. Joseph’s also published a commemorative Centennial Edition of SJCNY: St. Joseph’s College Magazine, which featured a detailed narrative of the institution’s first 100 years and paid homage to the leaders and alumni who helped build St. Joseph’s deep tradition of providing excellence in higher education.
