Year of St. Joseph

Celebrating the Year of St. Joseph

Pope Francis in December proclaimed that this year will be dedicated to St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church. St. Joseph's University is honored to be a part of this year-long celebration of the spirit of St. Joseph.
In doing so, the University is conducting a series of events that commemorate this special designation and is actively communicating how the example that St. Joseph set in his life directly relates to the impressive dedication of the University’s students, faculty, staff and alumni.

St. Joseph was a peaceful man of action and a devoted husband and father who was devout in his religious beliefs. As such, he demonstrated each of the five pillars that St. Joseph's University students are encouraged to live by: integrity, spiritual rigor, social responsibility, service and intellectual depth.

St. Joseph worked quietly yet effectively in providing the necessary protection, support and loving environment for his family. His example is a model of creative courage of how to endure hardship, and of how to rise above any crisis.
