SHRM Conference: Driving Loyalty: Engaging, Developing, and Retaining Employees

The Office of Continuing Education at St. Joseph’s College (SJC) will host an all-day conference for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) on Friday, October 6 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at SJC Long Island in Patchogue.

After a networking breakfast, the conference, “Driving Loyalty: Engaging, Developing and Retaining Employees,” will begin with workshops, followed by an alumni expert panel discussion focused on “Generational Differences in the Workplace.”

The panel presentation will be followed by lunch and a keynote address from Eddie Summers, vice president and chief strategy and planning officer at Long Island University. Afternoon workshops will also take place with topics including, “Career Development and Progression Planning” led by Lynn Spence ’97, senior vice president and director of human resources at T&M Associates; “Total Rewards: Creating and Administering Engaging Benefits Packages and Programs” led by Lorelei McGlynn, senior vice president for global human resources and financial operations at Henry Schein; and “Recruiting and Maintaining a Diverse Workforce” led by Mary Comerford-Hewitt, vice president for human capital business and program development, talent acquisition at Northwell Health.
