Workshop: Cracking the Code: Healthy Eating Made Easy

Due to the generosity of the Nature’s Bounty Foundation, SJC will be hosting a Wellness Series for the College and surrounding community.

Facilitator: Renee Barbis ’11, Integrative Nutrition and Health Coach, Rejuvenating Mind and Body

Do you feel bogged down by all the information on what is “good” and “bad” for you? Do you feel confused on what to eat or what to feed your family? Ease the stress of making healthy eating choices for you and your family by attending this workshop, which provides practical information and realistic food choices that you’ll want to work into your weekly meal plan. Light refreshments will be provided. 

Speaker Bio: Renée M. Barbis ’11 is a certified holistic health coach. After struggling with depression and being misdiagnosed by doctors, Renée decided to find an alternate route to control her mood through food. She became a health coach to fulfill her passion for working with people to improve their physical and mental health and create a happy family life.

Renée received her training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. She is certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Renée received her B.A. in Human Relations from St. Joseph’s College. 

As a health coach, Renée conducts workshops and programs at Whole Foods Market, Wild by Nature, libraries and school districts all over Long Island. Her favorite program is the success she sees with the anti-inflammatory detoxify your body. She has been featured as a health coach on Queens Public Access Television, and she has her own radio show on W4CY Radio. Renée conducts her programs in a bio-individualistic way that allows her clients to obtain health with her assistance while maintaining taste and feeling great.
