New Concentration in Health Information Systems Announced

BROOKLYN AND LONG ISLAND, NY JANUARY 25, 2011 St. Josephs College is pleased to announce the addition of a health information systems concentration to its health care management curriculum in the School of Professional and Graduate Studies, which will be available to students on both campuses beginning spring 2011.

This new concentration in the Colleges M.B.A. in Health Care Management will allow graduate students to enhance their knowledge of the applications that are rapidly transforming the health care industry. The curriculum focuses on the planning, development and implementation of health information systems. Prospective managers will learn how these systems can improve the delivery of health care with the latest methods and tools for the collection, organization and evaluation of information.

"Information systems are about to revolutionize medical care in our country, and our M.B.A. in Health Care Management with a concentration in information systems will prepare the generation of managers that will implement this massive undertaking, said Dr. Thomas Travis, Dean of the School of Professional and Graduate Studies.
