April 27, 2020 BK LI

BROOKLYN and PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – April 27, 2020 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is hosting its first-ever Virtual Spring Fling Week for students.

The weeklong event will run from April 27 – May 1 and feature SJC Spirit Day; Spoken Word Artist Drew Drake; Comedian Michael Kent; Magician Jonathan Burns; a trivia contest and student talent show.

“Our goal for these virtual events is to help students remain connected to SJC during this difficult period of isolation and uncertainty,” said Jaime Vacca, executive director of student life at SJC Brooklyn. “Our students miss their campuses and we hope these events will bring joy and comfort to their lives.”

The week of events have been sponsored by various SJC departments. Students are invited to each event via email.

“Spring Fling is something we all look forward to each year,” said Bryan Gill, executive director of SJC Long Island’s Center for Student Involvement, Leadership and Multicultural Programming. “Even though we’re hosting it in a much different way right now, we’re still excited to celebrate spring and give students a much-needed break as the semester draws to a close.”
