Gallery Talk: Translations

The Council for the Arts at SJC Brooklyn presents a gallery talk for TRANSLATIONS. This exhibit was curated by Ramona Candy and features the work of Pamella Allen, Che Baraka, Rachel Goldsmith, Abby Goldstein, Takuji Hamanaka, Parris Jaru, Eric Kaczmarczyk, Melanie Kozol and Valerie Williams.

Nature is not hidden in any of the works in TRANSLATIONS. Whether or not it was the artist's intention, each image is an adaptation of the earth’s natural environment. Artists have translated various characteristics of nature using enhancement, magnification, distortion, celebration, intrusion, imagination, manipulation — or in their use of medium. Attend this gallery talk to hear the artists talk about their work and inspiration.
