November 11, 2019

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Monday, November 11, 2019 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is pleased to announce that it will welcome students from the Urban Assembly of Collaborative Healthcare for an interactive tour of the College’s nursing labs on Friday, November 15.

“We are excited to welcome our friends from the Urban Assembly School For Collaborative Healthcare for an interactive tour of our state-of-the-art nursing labs,” said SJC President Donald R. Boomgaarden, Ph.D. “The future for careers in health care is bright, and we are proud to introduce these young people to our fine nursing program. St. Joseph's nurses and teaching professionals are making a huge difference in Brooklyn and beyond.”

At this event, Urban Assembly students will speak to members of the SJC Brooklyn nursing faculty and learn about the opportunities that exist within the field of nursing. After viewing the skills lab, students will see the interactive training mannequins in the simulation lab and learn first-hand what they can come to expect if they pursue a degree in nursing.

“We are excited to collaborate with St. Joseph's College to help our students envision a future in the health care field after they graduate,” said Kara Hamilton, partnership coordinator for the Urban Assembly for Collaborative Healthcare. “The tour of the College's nursing lab is just one way that we intend to work with St. Joseph's to create pathways to life beyond high school.”
