BROOKLYN, NY August 29, 2012 - Along with their accomplishments on the field, student-athletes at the St. Josephs College Brooklyn Campus reached an unprecedented level of achievement in the classroom this year. For the 2011-2012 season, 35 percent of Brooklyn student-athletes achieved a term GPA of 3.65 or higher and received Dean's List distinction for the spring semester.

As a whole, Brooklyn student-athletes produced one of their most impressive semesters ever, maintaining a combined 3.29 GPA for the spring term, featuring nine student-athletes posting a perfect 4.0 GPA and a stunning 48 percent earning a term GPA of 3.5 or higher.

"To have so many students succeed at this level academically is a testament to the hard work of our coaches, our faculty, and most importantly, our students, stated Brooklyn Campus Athletic Director Frank Carbone. "As we enter our second year of NCAA Division III competition, I have every confidence that our athletes will continue to build upon last year's accomplishments, both in the classroom and on the field.

The Hudson Valley Mens and Womens Athletic Conferences also announced their Spring 2012 All-Academic Teams, and 15 St. Josephs student-athletes merited selection to this prestigious roster. To be eligible for All-Academic team honors, student-athletes must be sophomores or higher and maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA, one of the more stringent requirements for the honor.
