SJC to Hold 21st Annual Golf Classic

BROOKLYN AND PATCHOGUE, NY MAY 3, 2011 St. Josephs College announced today that it will hold its 21st Annual Golf Classic on Monday, June 6 at the Plandome Country Club in Plandome, NY. The 2011 honoree is Michael E. Ryan, founder and president of The LandTek Group, Inc. All proceeds from this event will support the Colleges athletic programs.

"The College is delighted to honor Mike Ryan, as he and The LandTek Group have played a major role in expanding the athletic programs on our Long Island Campus, said Nancy Connors, vice president for institutional advancement at St. Josephs College. "The new athletic fields are beautiful and our students can't wait to compete on them in the years to come. LandTek has done a great job and we are very grateful to Mike for his expertise and leadership.

In 1979, Michael E. Ryan founded The LandTek Group, a leader in athletic field and golf course construction. Over the years, Mr. Ryan has developed improvements in artificial surface technology that have led to safer, less expensive and manageable turf for community fields. He has led the construction of more than 200 athletic complexes and a number of golf course developments, and has acted as site developer for numerous other projects.

The LandTek Group, as the number one athletic field builder in the United States, has built facilities for the New York Mets, New York Yankees and New York Jets. Currently, The LandTek Group is constructing St. Josephs Colleges athletic complex on the Long Island Campus.
