SJC to Hold 23rd Annual Golf Classic

June 02, 2013

BROOKLYN AND PATCHOGUE, N.Y. June 3, 2013 Due to inclement weather, St. Josephs College (SJC) has rescheduled its 23rd Annual Golf Classic to Monday, June 24 at the Plandome Country Club in Plandome, N.Y. The 2013 honoree is Martin Racanelli Jr., vice president and partner of Racanelli Construction Co. Inc. All proceeds from this event will support the Colleges athletic programs.

Long Island born and raised, Martin Racanelli Jr. has worked alongside his father, three brothers and sister for the past 22 years at the family-owned and operated Racanelli Construction Co. Inc.  In 1991, Racanelli graduated with honors and a degree in finance from Boston College, where he played rugby. He is an avid golfer and has completed three Ironman Triathlons.

"We are extremely pleased to have Marty Racanelli as this year's honoree. The Racanelli family has always been known for its leadership in the New York Metropolitan area business community, and as one of the finest golfing families on Long Island, said Don Lizak, athletic director on the Long Island Campus of SJC and general chair for the Golf Classic.

"Marty is an accomplished single-digit handicap player, but is always hard-pressed to maintain the top spot with the family on the links. Marty's stature in the business community and his accomplishments on the golf course, make him a perfect fit for the 2013 SJC Golf Classic.
