BROOKLYN, N.Y. - July 2, 2014 - St. Josephs College (SJC) is pleased to announce that it will once again host the Summer Institute at St. Josephs College (SI@SJC) on its Brooklyn Campus. This program provides a summer camp enrichment experience to both a middle and high school audience and feature week-long sessions starting on Monday, July 7 and concluding on Friday, July 25.

With nearly double the number of enrolled students from last year, the goal of the Institute is to provide each student with an enriching academic and social experience. Programs are designed to foster personal development through academic study and shared experience, and during each one-week session, students select one class. A broad array of courses that are unmatched in the metro area are offered so that each student will have a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their subject and the world, and also make new friends that share their interests.

"Now in its second year, the Summer Institute at St. Joseph's College provides bright young minds with a challenging and enriching specialized curriculum at a modest cost," said Dr. Jill Rehmann, interim dean and professor of chemistry at SJCs Brooklyn Campus. "The College is delighted to provide these aspiring young scholars with a proper setting at which to pursue their interests, and will hopefully serve to inspire them as they develop their interests."

All classes are offered to both high school and middle school students with the exception of psychology and advanced creative writing, which is offered to high school students only. Middle school students and high school students will have two distinct classrooms, teachers and depth of study. Classes and curriculums are developed using one-week long academic moduleswith this, students can start any course during any session. Students may also take more than one session, in the same class, with minimal repetition, and can take multiple classes, extending their learning throughout the summer. Special pricing is available for students who attend more than one session.

Admission into SI@SJC is done on a rolling basis and is subject to class size. All registration will be done online at www.sjcsummerinstitute.org, and a non-refundable deposit of $250 per student, per session is required to reserve space.
