SJC BROOKLYN TO LAUNCH CLINTON HILL COURSES

BROOKLYN, N.Y. –September 13, 2018 - St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is pleased to announce that it will launch the Clinton Hill Courses, a series of continuing education offerings that reflect the diversity of both its scholars and the interests of the surrounding community this fall.

The courses are:

  • Reading and Writing the American Gothic: Tuesdays, September 25 - December 11, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Led by Lee Clay Johnson of SJC’s Writer’s Foundry.
  • Flash Fiction Writing: Tuesdays, October 9 – November 13, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Led by author and SJC adjunct professor Sara Lippmann.
  • Introduction to Indian Theater Arts: Wednesdays, October 10 - November 14. 7-9 p.m. Led by Preeti Vasudevan, founder of the Thresh Performing Arts Collective.
  • Science, Technology, and the Great War: Wednesdays, October 10 - November 14. 6:30-8:30 p.m. Led by Michael Hanophy, Ph.D., SJC Brooklyn’s executive dean for academic affairs and professor of biology.

“The Clinton Hill Courses seek to showcase the compelling activity taking place at St. Joseph's College, and project it into the vibrant intellectual scene of Clinton Hill,” said Thomas Travis, Ph.D., interim provost at SJC. “This program will be an ongoing glimpse into the passions and interests of the scholars who call SJC Brooklyn home. These experiences are too important and valuable not to share with our community.”
