BROOKLYN and PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – October 5, 2021 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) was once again ranked as a top college by U.S. News & World Report and Forbes. For more than a decade, SJC has been recognized by both publications for its high graduation rates, services for students and alumni outcomes.

This year, SJC earned rankings in the following U.S. News categories: Best Regional University – North, Best Colleges for Veterans (Regional Universities – North) and Social Mobility (Regional Universities – North). In addition, SJC earned a spot on Forbes’ America’s Top Colleges list.

Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1916, SJC has grown over the last century to include three campuses in Brooklyn, Patchogue and Online. With a network of more than 44,000 alumni, SJC is known for its commitment to excellence in academic and co-curricular programs.

“We are proud to be recognized once again as one of the best colleges in the nation,” said Donald R. Boomgaarden, Ph.D., SJC president. “Our position in these highly competitive rankings confirms the dedication of the St. Joseph’s faculty and SJC community to providing our students with the best possible college experience. Throughout the years, we have remained true to our founding values, and we continue to focus on individual development, professional success and service to society.”

SJC was selected by U.S. News & World Report based on high graduation and retention rates; graduate indebtedness; social mobility of students and graduates; expert opinion; faculty resources; student excellence; financial resources and alumni giving; as well number of veterans enrolled and eligibility in the 9/11 GI® Bill Yellow Ribbon Program.

For the America’s Top Colleges list, Forbes weighed the return on investment and outcomes delivered to students, as well as graduation rates, alumni salaries and how well low-income students were served.
