Business Administration

Business Administration

The B.S. in Business Administration develops tomorrow’s business leaders by providing an extraordinary education in every facet of business — management, operations, marketing, accounting, economics, human resources, finance and law. It has prepared our graduates for top positions in management, banking, real estate, government, the nonprofit sector and more.

To obtain a complete education, students take various liberal arts courses where communication skills and critical thinking are emphasized. In small classes, students are mentored by faculty, who also provide career development guidance. Long Island Campus business students study in the cutting-edge Business and Technology Center, which houses new computers, Smart Classrooms and the latest software. Students at the Brooklyn Campus enjoy similar resources in an urban setting.

Students are encouraged to experience an internship, and majors have worked, for example, at New York Life, Moody’s Investor’s Service, Kraft Foods and TransCare Corp.

The business administration major in Brooklyn offers two optional concentrations: Sports Management (including sports law, facilities management, marketing and planning) and Finance (investment analysis and management, money and banking, international finance and insurance). SJC also offers a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting, a B.S. in Marketing and a dual B.S./M.B.A. in Accounting. Both an M.S. in Management and an Executive M.B.A. are offered through our Graduate Management Studies program. Minors in business administration, marketing and accounting are also available.
