Danielle Endes ‘13 and Javier Bosque ‘14
Majors: Child Study and Speech / Biology
Careers: Special Ed. Teacher / Assistant Manager at Animal Care Center
Where did you meet?
We were both in the honors program and so we met freshmen year in an honors history course. A few weeks into school, and Javi had a cardiac arrest while running in Fort Greene Park and ended up missing the entire first semester of college (which is why we graduated in different years). When he came back, Danielle tried to help him to remember what had happened on the day of the accident and other little things that he had forgotten.
Did you take any classes together?
We took the honors courses together and were even able to travel to France as a couple through the program.
Did a classmate introduce you?
We had mutual friends so we became friends by default. Javi's sister, Teresa Bosque '12 wanted Danielle and Javi to be together from the start but neither Danielle nor Javi were interested in the other.
Did you join a club to get closer to each other?
No but we were both very involved in SGA and CAB which helped our relationship to grow.
Favorite budding SJC courtship memory?
We had our very first kiss in the red room.
Where was your first date?
Our first date was planned by Javi. We ate at Mega Bites on Dekalb, then went to the promenade, and finished the date at Connecticut Muffin with a red velvet cupcake and hot chocolate.
Did you (or will you) name your child "Joseph/Josephine?"
We probably will not be naming our child after SJC; however we did discuss having our wedding at SJC so that Evodio's could cater, DJ Royal could DJ, and Robert Napolitano could be the photographer. Unfortunately we decided against it but are happy to say we will be married on October 9, 2016.
Any relationship advice for current students?
Even if you have a significant other in college, make time for your friends and other college activities. You don't have to spend every second with them to show them you love them. You will appreciate their company more in the long run.
