Dr. Brian Kelly is a lecturer at St. Joseph’s College, celebrating his 15th year in higher education. Brian is currently assigned to the undergraduate degree program for the Department of Criminal Justice, as well as the Masters of Science in Forensic Computing graduate program. He is a retired law enforcement officer from the State of New Jersey, who has conducted more than 2,000 face to face interviews pertaining to legal actions and criminal investigations. Brian is a criminologist and security practitioner that has worked within multiple capacities of criminal justice, as well as consulting assignments in the private sector. Dr. Kelly’s research interests span the spectrum of law enforcement related subject matter, including but not Police Worn Body Cameras, Active Shooter, and Crime Mapping, and Interview and Interrogation, where he has published various works in these areas, as well as presented domestically and internationally at conferences for a multitude of organizations. In addition to his work at SJC, he maintains licensure as a licensed private detective and certified fraud examiner, as well as a security clearance on the federal level. Brian is a multi-chapter member of the American Society of Industrial Security and Society of Professional Investigators, and serves on the international advisory board for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
