LI
James Blakeley’s interests include Late Medieval and Early Modern Europe. He has published numerous articles in the field of Reformation history, most recently in the Sixteenth Century Journal. He has also presented papers in the United States, Germany, and Switzerland. He has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship (2003-4), was a participant in a National Endowment from the Humanities Summer Seminar (2013), and received a summer research grant from Calvin College’s Meeter Center for Calvin Studies (2015). He is currently finishing a monograph entitled: Voting for the Faith: The Reformation in the Jointly Held Territories of Western Switzerland. He teaches a wide range of courses including Western Civilization, The Ancient World for honors students, The Modern Middle East, and a freshman seminar course on the Black Plague. He is currently the Chair of the History Department.
