Bio

Dr. Mark Hessler's research interests include the impact of Enlightenment science on the religious practices of eighteenth century American Puritans. His current research project examines Benjamin Franklin's musical aestheticism as a case study in nascent American identity and transatlantic cultural change. Dr. Hessler has received awards for teaching excellence from several institutions, including Stony Brook University, SUNY Empire State College, and St. Joseph's University, New York.
