Bio

Teresa Tannazzo joined the faculty in 2010. She teaches a variety of classes including Introduction to Psychology, Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences, and Sensation and Perception. In addition to serving as chair of the psychology department, she chairs the Academic Development Committee, is a member of the college’s Undergraduate Research Advisory Committee, the committee on Promotions and Awards, the IACUC, and is a departmental representative for the IRB.

Dr. Tannazzo is an experimental psychologist with a focus on visual processes. Her early research investigated basic sensory processes including contrast sensitivity and color vision. She now studies perceptual performance utilizing Gestalt grouping techniques. In addition, she looks for new ways to her work applies to real-world settings. She encourages students to engage in research and to volunteer as research assistants in her laboratory.
