Tina Ferro came to St. Joseph’s College in 2014. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management and the director of the Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Management (IHTM).
Prior to working at St. Joseph’s College, Ms. Ferro was an adjunct instructor at Suffolk County Community College in Riverhead and the regional vice president of operations for JARAL East End Hotel Corp. in Riverhead. Ms. Ferro has gained experience in hospitality by working for a number of hotel chains, including Wingate Inn, Best Western, Holiday Inn Express, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Hotel Indigo and the Garden City Hotel.
In 2018, Ms. Ferro received the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association "Outstanding Tourism Educator" and Discover Long Island "Industry Advancement" Awards. Ms. Ferro was previously honored with the Marriott Tiefel Award for Outstanding Guest Service and Wingate Inn General Managers Certification Award. She is a Certified Serv Safe Instructor, a member of Skål Long Island and the Director of Young Skål Long Island.
In 2003, Ms. Ferro completed the General Managers Program at Cornell University. She is currently in pursuit of a Ph.D. in Leadership & Organizational Strategy through Walden University.
