Are all SJC Online undergraduate and graduate programs still accepting applications for the fall 2020 semester?

At this time, all SJC Online programs are accepting new students for the fall 2020 semester. View our list of online programs to see all of the undergraduate and graduate online programs we offer--it’s not too late to apply for admission or financial aid.

Will there be an orientation program for new SJC Online students?

Yes, a virtual orientation program will be conducted to assist new students in learning about navigating our online classes, support services available and campus facilities available to our online students.

There is online orientation for the learning management system (Canvas). This orientation is available to all new registered SJC Online students as a way to learn how to use the platform. It is designed as a mock classroom to practice before classes begin.

I noticed St. Joseph’s College is offering both “online” and “remote” coursework. As an online student, can I register for “remote” courses?

Online course offerings are scheduled to meet the requirements of all fully online programs. It is therefore expected that online students register for online classes. Remote coursework requires set meeting times via Zoom and may encompass types of physical presence not typically expected in a traditional online learning environment.

When do fall 2020 classes begin?

When do fall 2020 classes begin? Our traditional semester begins on September 9, 2020. We offer a late-start option to begin coursework part-time on November 2, 2020.

Will tutoring services be available?

Yes, virtual tutoring will continue to be available for all SJC Online students.

Who do I contact if I need accommodations or accessibility services?

Students seeking accommodations should email Katie Blumenthal for detailed information on how to apply for them.

Are library services available?

Yes. Library services are available virtually throughout the summer. For more information, please refer to our libraries section.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted me in a way that requires me to make changes to my schedule or program planning. Who should I contact?

 It is recommended that you contact your academic adviser as soon as possible to discuss both academic and support options. If you are unsure of who your academic adviser is, please reach out to a member of the SJC Online student success team.

Are there new procedures and protocols for coming to campus once the College reopens its physical locations?

Will SJC Online students have access to career services?

Yes. Please visit the SJC Online Portal Page and review the section on Career Preparation and Development. You can also contact the Director of the Office of Career Preparation and Development by emailing Jennifer Rooney at [email protected].

Will SJC Online students have access to counseling and wellness services?

What if I need technical support?

St. Joseph’s College continues to offer 24/7 technical support for our Learning Management System through Canvas. The College offers direct technical assistance through Information Technology Services (ITS) for issues relating to SJC hosted technologies like the student portal and Student Planning.

I need access to computer software I don’t currently have at home. Do I need to come to campus and access a computer lab?

The SJC Virtual Applications Lab provides students with access to software that has traditionally been available only in computer labs. By delivering SJC academic applications to the private cloud, students can have 24/7 access to class software from their own computers without needing to purchase or install the software to a personal device.
