    6:30 pm
Plaza Cinema and Media Arts Center, 20 Terry St, Suite 121, Patchogue, NY

Join SJC faculty and staff at the Plaza Cinema and Media Arts Center for a film screening and discussion of “A Hidden Life.” Dr. Tom Petriano, professor and chair of religious studies at SJC Long Island, will lead the discussion on February 20. Dr. Peter Mascuch, associate professor of English and American studies at SJC Long Island, is the chief curator of the film series and partnership with the Plaza Cinema.

Based on real events, "A Hidden Life" is the story of an unsung hero, Franz Jägerstätter, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. When the Austrian peasant farmer is faced with the threat of execution for treason, it is his unwavering faith and his love for his wife Fanni and children that keeps his spirit alive. Directed by Terrence Malick.
