The Irish-American Experience: The Life and Times of Daniel Cohalan, 1865-1946

St. Joseph’s College’s History Department welcomes historian Dr. Michael Doorley for a series of public lectures organized in partnership with and funding from Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation. Activities include four public lectures and a digital exhibit entitled “The Life and Times of Daniel Cohalan, 1865-1946.”

Dr. Doorley is an associate lecturer in History and International Relations with the Open University in Ireland. He is the author of “Irish-American Diaspora Nationalism: The Friends of Irish Freedom, 1916—1935” (2005) and has published widely on the history of the Irish diaspora in the United States. Dr. Doorley’s lecture series will draw from his latest work, “Justice Daniel Cohalan, 1865-1946: American Patriot and Irish-American Nationalist,” (Cork University Press, 2019).
