Herstory: Readings of Prison Writings

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. March 26, 2010 The Criminal Justice Club at St. Josephs College is pleased to present the lecture, Herstory: Readings of Prison Writings from "Voices Second Edition on Tuesday, April 6 at 12:40 p.m. in the Music Room on the Long Island Campus in Patchogue, NY.

This event will discuss excerpts from Voices, a collection of stories by incarcerated women that provide facts about criminology, law and society. All inmates of Suffolk County Correctional Facilities, these women have written stories and published family letters to create this second edition of memoirs, which has received positive feedback from the general public and aided in the social and mental development of the authors. The event promises to be a mind- and life-changing experience.

The Criminal Justice Clubs mission is to build friendships and network, as well as educate students and other professors on important topics relating to the justice system. The Club brings in guest speakers to the College, and supports educational and career opportunities related to the criminal justice field.
