SJC Bursar Elected Long Island Regional Director of NYSOBBA

Patchogue, NY June 21, 2011 St. Josephs College is pleased to announce that Joy Privitera, bursar for the College, was recently elected Long Island Regional Director of the New York State Organization of Bursars and Business Administrators (NYSOBBA).

Privitera has worked at SJC for nearly 25 years and received her bachelors degree in human relations from the College in 2002, as well as an EMBA while serving on the Directors Student Advisory Council in 2009. In addition to her regular duties as the College's bursar, Privitera also provides leadership and administrative oversight, while servicing students needs, handling billing transactions, refunds and financial aid transfers.

As the Long Island Regional Director of NYSOBBA, Priviteras responsibilities will include attending board meetings, conducting regional meetings, organizing events and planning annual conferences.

In addition to NYSOBBA, Privitera is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, the Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers and the Cambridge Whos Who Online Registry.

NYSOBBA is a not-for-profit corporation organized to promote excellence and professionalism among its members in carrying out student related business functions at institutions of higher education in New York. It provides training and instruction for bursars and business administrators, as well as an interchange of ideas and information in order to assist members in formulating and implementing more effective approaches in matters pertaining to educational business administration.
