SJC Director of Alumni Relations Honored as Young Professional

PATCHOGUE, NY March 16, 2010 St. Josephs College is pleased to announce that Matthew Colson 02, director of alumni relations on the Long Island Campus, was honored by the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce at its "Celebrate Long Islands Young Professionals Reception on March 10, 2010 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY.

"Matt Colson has transformed the alumni program for SJC's Long Island Campus, said Vice President for Institutional Advancement Nancy Connors. "Matts energy and enthusiasm for his work is contagious. Everyone at the College joins Matt in celebrating this well-deserved honor.

Each year, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce honors 30 young professionals from the private, public, not-for-profit and government sectors that have impacted their industry and surrounding community.

Mr. Colson began working in the Office of Alumni Relations at St. Josephs College in 2006. As director, his primary responsibilities include developing, implementing and assessing all alumni relation initiatives as well as coordinating events and collaborative programs for students and more than 30,000 alumni in the tri state area. Mr. Colson received a Master of Science in Education from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from St. Josephs College. He currently lives in Medford, NY with his daughter Ava Rose.
