SJC Honors Inductees at 4th Annual Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony

PATCHOGUE, NY AUGUST 23, 2011 The St. Josephs College Office of Alumni Relations and Department of Athletics are pleased to announce the Fourth Annual Golden Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Reception on Friday, September 23 at 7 p.m. The event will take place at the John A. Danzi Athletic Center located on the Colleges Long Island Campus in Patchogue, NY.

"We are extremely happy to honor the fourth group of Hall of Fame inductees, said Don Lizak, athletic director at SJC. "These inductees exemplify the strong tradition of athletic excellence and team success at St. Joseph's College over the past 25 years. We take great pride in recognizing their accomplishments as student-athletes, and their contributions to St. Joseph's College.

Established in 2008 by the Office of Alumni Relations and Department of Athletics at SJC, the Golden Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame honors former athletes, coaches and friends of the College who have contributed significantly to the athletic program and continue to exemplify the principles of sportsmanship and integrity through their contributions and achievements in their respective communities and professions.

This years celebrated class of honorees include former baseball MVP, All-District First Team member and Exceptional Senior, Charlie Caputo 90; former soccer MVP, four-time Hudson Valley All-Conference Team award recipient and All-Hudson Valley Conference player, Michael Symancyk 01; former two-time basketball MVP and two-time Student Athlete Award winner James McCormack 89; the first two-sport, four-year player in SJC history, Golden Eagle Award winner in both basketball and baseball and current fourth ranked athlete on SJCs all-time basketball scoring list, Peter Manger 92; and the 2006 Softball Team.
