SJC Honors Inductees at Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony

PATCHOGUE, NY SEPTEMBER 14, 2010 St. Josephs College is pleased to announce the celebration of its Third Annual Golden Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Reception on Friday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations and Department of Athletics, the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at the John A. Danzi Athletic Center located on the Colleges Long Island Campus in Patchogue, NY.

"We are extremely happy to honor the third group of Hall of Fame inductees, said Don Lizak, athletic director at SJC. "These outstanding individuals and successful teams are graphic evidence of the depth of talent, and very rich tradition of athletic excellence that has been the mark of a strong and consistent program through the years.

This years celebrated class of honorees include former multi-sport athlete, Allyson Wolff 02; former two-time baseball MVP, Christopher Alfano 93; former MVP goaltender, Edward Barbante 01; womens equestrian team founder and coach, Sheila Rodgers; the 92 Mens Tennis Team; and the 04 Baseball Team.

The Office of Alumni Relations and the Department of Athletics at SJC established the Golden Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008 to honor former athletes, coaches and friends of the College. The honorees have contributed significantly to the athletic program and continue to exemplify the principles of sportsmanship and integrity through their contributions and achievements in their respective communities and professions.
