SJC to Host Annual Alumni Achievement Awards

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – May 15, 2017 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) will host the Fifth Annual Alumni Achievement Awards in Health Care and Human Services on Thursday, June 15 at 6 p.m. in the McGann Conference Center at SJC Long Island. Michael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell Health, will serve as the keynote speaker.

“Michael Dowling has led Northwell Health to a preeminent position by successfully navigating the constant forces that are reshaping health care,” said John Sardelis, Dr.P.H., associate chair and professor of health administration at SJC. “Major changes are under consideration and Mr. Dowling's invaluable insights will help us better understand the future of Long Island’s health care system.”

This year’s award recipients are Amy Loeb, RN, BSN ’06, MBA ’12, Ed.D., vice president and chief nursing officer at Peconic Bay Medical Center; Lu Ann Rowland RN, BSN ’13, MSN ’16, staff nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital; and Mary Ellen Guszack, RN, BSN, MS ’17, lead team manager for the Home Care Office at Catholic Health Services.

“Once again we come together to celebrate and recognize the achievements of our alumni in the areas of health care and human services,” said Paige Napoli Carbone ’02, director of alumni engagement at SJC. “This year’s honorees have contributed significantly and made great impacts in their respective professions. They continue to make us proud.”  

The achievement awards will be presented to alumni in the areas of nursing, health care management and human services leadership. Special recognition will be given to the contributions of SJC’s alumni ambassadors.

This event is open to SJC alumni, students and guests. Refreshments will be served. Online pre-registration is required.
