SJC to Host Business and Technology Seminar Series

Patchogue, N.Y. – January 29, 2015 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) and the Town of Huntington LaunchPad Accelerator are pleased to partner for a series of business seminars this spring. Hosted by distinguished business professionals, the seminars will focus on market research, exercise, negotiation and entrepreneurship.

“As an educational partner of LaunchPad, SJC will be offering workshops that will enable entrepreneurs to take their businesses to the next level,” said Gail Lamberta, Ph.D., associate academic dean on the Long Island Campus of SJC. “As an accelerator that primarily focuses on helping entrepreneurs start and build successful companies, SJC helps LaunchPad to provide innovative information to assist and inspire these start-ups, which ultimately helps to create jobs on Long Island.”

The seminar schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, February 25 – Get Up and Move It…Move It! Presented by Lisa Galasso, exercise instructor and alumni relations officer at the Long Island Campus of SJC, this interactive workshop will offer a fun exercise program to give you the emotional lift needed to boost your energy and creativity levels.

Wednesday, March 11 – The Art of Negotiation and War Stories. This workshop will consist of a panel of experts including Charles Pendola, CPA, attorney and director for the Office of Graduate Management Studies at SJC; Harvey Brofman, president of Nine 4-Bit Slices, LLC; Frank Zinghini, president of Applied Vision, Inc. and Allen Cohen, corporate attorney for Nixon Peabody, LLP. Panel speakers will offer valuable insight about the techniques and processes employed in any negotiation environment. 

Thursday, April 23 – An Evening with Dan Kim. Dan Kim is the founder of Red Mango and he will be on hand to offer expertise on starting a business from the ground up.

Tuesday, May 5 – Business Development for Startups. Presented by Robert Feiler, adjunct professor in the Department of Business Administration at SJC, this workshop will offer information on how to drive new business to a high-tech startup, how technology can be integrated into sales and marketing efforts during early stages of growth and how to sustain that growth. There will also be a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.
