SJC to Partner with Local Businesses

September 08, 2013

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. SEPTEMBER 9, 2013 The Offices of Alumni Relations and Career Development and Engagement at St. Josephs College (SJC) are pleased to announce the first SJC Working For You event on Friday, October 4 at 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the McGann Conference Center on the Colleges Long Island Campus.

The mission of SJC Working For You is to establish relationships with local corporations while creating partnership opportunities between these businesses and the SJC faculty and administration. This event will assist companies looking to recruit students for internships and full- and part-time jobs, and, in turn, help SJC students gain experience in their fields of study or financial support for their education.

"The purpose and meaning behind SJC Working For You is to further connect the College with local employers to showcase the talent and abilities of SJC students and graduates, said Jennifer Rooney, assistant director of the Office of Career Development and Engagement. "We want employers to know about the stellar education that students are receiving from our faculty, and the knowledge that these students can bring to a company.

Several of the companies participating in SJC Working For You include Target, Huntington Learning Center, Northwestern Mutual and Special Olympics.
