St. Joseph’s to Host 9/11 Memorial Service

PATCHOGUE, NY SEPTEMBER 10, 2012 In an effort to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the sacrifices of the many men and women who serve this country, the Long Island Campus of St. Josephs College (SJC) will be hosting a memorial service and flag changing ceremony on the 11th anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in Shanksville, PA .

On Tuesday, September 11, SJCs Campus Ministry will host its annual memorial service to honor the memory of the victims who perished on 9/11 with an open prayer service and candlelight vigil.

"St. Josephs College has long supported the armed forces and continues to encourage the participation of our students in their military obligations, said Shannon ONeill, assistant dean for the School of Professional and Graduate Studies at SJCs Long Island Campus. "It is imperative that we honor the victims of 9/11 and the men and women who continue to fight for our freedom.

This years service will take place in the DEcclesiis Auditorium at noon.  A formal flag changing ceremony conducted by SJC students who represent each branch of the military will directly follow at 1:30 p.m. on the Quad.
