St. Joseph’s College Honors Inductees at Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony

Patchogue, N.Y. – September 10, 2014 – The Office of Alumni Relations and Department of Athletics at St. Joseph’s College (SJC) are pleased to announce the Seventh Annual Golden Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Sunday, September 28 at 11 a.m. The event will take place in the McGann Conference Center, located on the College’s Long Island Campus in Patchogue, New York.
This year’s celebrated class of honorees are Kristin Bihary Lievre ’03, Jennifer DeGennaro Iurio ’95, Bryan Knipfing ’06 and the 2008 Women's Softball and Men's Cross Country teams.
“Being inducted into your alma mater’s Hall of Fame is an honor reserved for truly talented individuals,” said Shantey Hill, director of athletics and recreation at SJC’s Long Island Campus. “This year’s inductees should be proud of their athletic accomplishments, and the records they have set stand today as examples for current and future student-athletes to follow. These individuals are true illustrations of Golden Eagle pride and we are delighted to induct them into the Hall of Fame family.”
Established in 2008, the Golden Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame honors former athletes, coaches and friends of the College who have contributed significantly to the athletic program and continue to exemplify the principles of sportsmanship and integrity through their contributions and achievements in their respective communities and professions.
An alumni mass and special blessing of the athletes will take place before the ceremony at 10 a.m. in the Muriel & Virginia Pless Center for the Performing Arts.
