St. Joseph’s College Named as One of U.s. News & World Report’s Best Colleges

BROOKLYN AND PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – September 9, 2019 –St. Joseph’s College (SJC) was again ranked as one of the nation’s top colleges by U.S. News & World Report. For more than a decade, SJC has been selected as one of the nation’s top colleges by U.S. News & World Report in the Regional Universities – North category, and this year saw the College move up three spots in the rankings.

Boomgaarden, Ph.D. “Our continued success in the U.S. News and World Report rankings as well as many other publications is both a validation of our unique mission and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff and, most importantly, our students.”

With campuses in Brooklyn, Long Island and Online, SJC was selected to this year’s list of top Regional Universities–North based upon its high graduation and retention rates, as well as social mobility of its graduates, faculty resources, expert opinion, student excellence, financial resources and alumni giving.

In addition, U.S. News & World Report named SJC to its list of Best Colleges for Veterans. The College was selected to this list due to its high comprehensive rankings, as well as its eligibility in the 9/11 GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program.

SJC was selected in the new Top Performers on Social Mobility category, which assesses the graduation rates of federal Pell Grant recipients in comparison to the graduation rates of non-Pell recipients, with more credit awarded to institutions with a higher percentage of Pell recipients among its student body.

SJC Brooklyn was also named to Forbes’ list of America's Top Colleges and Money Magazine’s 2019 Best Colleges issue.
