The Social Media Revolution

PATCHOGUE, NY MARCH 26, 2010 St. Josephs College will host a panel discussion on social networking, The Social Media Revolution: How social networking sites can make or break your career, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 8 in the McGann Conference Center on the Colleges Long Island Campus.

Social networking has become one of the fastest-growing trends in the world of communications. The Social Media Revolution, featuring panelists Steve Haweeli, president of WordHampton Public Relations, David Reich-Hale, Long Island editor for Patch.com, an AOL Company, Ronda Scharlat, owner of Linked to Ronda Recruitment and Thomas Whitby, English professor and social media specialist at St. Josephs College will discuss how social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn can be effective in branding yourself and creating opportunities when utilized properly.

"Social networking has become an important communications medium for creating business and personal relationships, said Matthew Colson, moderator of the event and director of alumni relations for the Long Island Campus of St. Josephs College. "Were pleased to be able to offer our alumni and the entire College community the opportunity to learn from some of the best and brightest in the social media field. 

This event, which is being co-sponsored by the Offices of Alumni Relations and Public Relations at St. Josephs College, is free and open to the public.
