"I chose SJC on a whim, thinking that I would attend for a semester and then transfer. However, once I completed my first semester, and all of the experiences that came along with it, I knew that I had found my place.

"I am the Station Manager of SJC's radio station. I love music, and this position has made it possible for me to DJ different events on campus, as well as expand the library of music that is played over our live web stream.

"I studied abroad over the summer with our school's Oxford Experience. Going to Oxford, and exploring all over England was the most eye opening, and incredible experiences of my life. I not only had the chance to live, and study in one of the most historical universities in the world, but I got to push my boundaries and expand my horizons day in and day out. I recommend every student look into studying abroad.

"The biggest challenge I faced, and that I think many students may face is letting myself get the most out of my experience here. I am normally a very reserved person, and at first did not think I would find my place here. I was lucky enough to make friends that helped me see what was really available to me."

"After SJC I plan on getting my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and going into mental health counseling field. As a kid I wanted to be an actor, because of the approval and praise that actors get from our society. I see now that low self-esteem had a lot to do with the formation of that dream, and I didn't pursue it for that reason.
