Computer Information Technology

Computer Information Technology

Industry leaders are constantly recruiting tech savvy people, and St. Joseph's B.S. in Computer Information Technology (CIT) graduates are attractive candidates. Systems analysts, programmers, network and database administrators, Web and mobile application developers—our graduates enter these and other fields after receiving our program’s top-notch education.

The CIT program prepares students to apply information technology in organizational and business environments. Students learn to develop technological infrastructures and systems and use them to acquire and manage information. The program builds on programming, algorithms, data structures, databases, software engineering, business systems and computer networking fundamentals.

Students learn in small classes, which allow for personal attention from a dedicated faculty. Smart Classrooms make use of extensive technology, and high-tech labs are constantly updated. A pair of Remote Classrooms allows Patchogue students to attend class with their Brooklyn counterparts in a virtual setting, encouraging interaction between the two groups.

In addition, qualified students are encouraged to participate in our robust internship program with the industry’s foremost companies. Internships enable students to gain paid experience in the field while they earn college credit toward the major. Many of our internships lead to full-time employment upon graduation.
